Heaven
Heaven is a celestial combination of naturally dyed mulberry silk, merino wool, baby camel, and kid mohair. As the name suggests, my vision for this shawl was for it to appear as if the wearer donned a piece of the heavens. I achieved this look by dyeing my yarn varying shades of indigo blue, mimicking the sky, and including stripes of supplemental patterns woven with baby camel to provide a soft golden glow. The shawl has a beautifully light drape, with the merino wool adding a comfortable amount of weight and warmth. The fringes have been finished in the signature Hemma Textiles fashion, in a combination of twists and braids. This shawl is a one-of-a-kind piece.
Warp: 100% mulberry silk naturally dyed with indigo, iron, and logwood.
Weft: 65% merino wool, 35% mulberry silk blend naturally dyed with indigo; 65% mulberry silk, 35% baby camel blend; 100% kid mohair
Dimensions: 77.5” long by 24.5” wide, with an additional 6.25” in fringes (197cm x 62cm, with 16cm fringes)
